Uzbek President Islam Karimov delivered a report “Constitution of Uzbekistan - firm fundament for our progress on democratic development and formation of civil society”.

President Islam Karimov congratulated people of Uzbekistan with the Constitution Day and summed up the results of the realization of the State Programme “The Year of Rural Development and Well-Being”.

Uzbek leader said the implementation of the programme is designed not only for 2009, but also to mid- and long-term perspective. He said over 2.612 trillion soums were directed from all sources of financing to execution of the programme.

Taking into account perspectives and tasks related to further development of Uzbekistan and proposals of the society, Islam Karimov proposed to announce 2010 as the Year of Harmonically Developed Generation. Participants supported the initiative with standing applauds.
