The document was adopted to modernize electricity network of street lightening of Tashkent city and decrease expenses for electricity though replacement of power-consuming equipment to new energy efficient ones.
On 10 February 2013, Council of boards of Islamic Development Bank (IDB) approved allocation of financial resources for US$36 million for 15 years, including three year grace period, to implementation of the project “Modernization and Introduction of Energy-Efficient Technologies in the System of Street Lighting Networks in the City of Tashkent”. It will be implemented within three years (2014-2016).
According to the resolution, State Unitary Enterprise “Toshshaharnur” under Tashkent city administration is appointed as executive body, responsible for implementation of investment project and targeted use of IDB resources.
The Government entrusted Toshshaharnur to sign agreement with the IDB on behalf of Uzbekistan on financing of investment project and Ministry of Finance to issue guarantee agreement with the IDB.
Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan was entrusted to issue legal conclusion on guarantee agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan and the IDB.
The Government said that Tashkent city administration will coordinate implementation of measures within the investment programme and targeted uses of resources.
