During the meeting, the sides discussed issues the Uzbek-Japanese relations and issues of mutual interest, the Uzbek ministry’s press service said.

It was noted that the official visit of the Uzbek President Islam Karimov to Japan in February 2011 gave powerful impulse to bilateral relations and boost political dialogue and process of deepening mutual beneficial strategic partnership.

The sides expressed assurance that Japan, as one of leading powers, will overcome this difficult period, caused by March earthquake and its consequences. Japan and its people accepted support of Uzbekistan in difficult time with the gratitude.

Shigeki Hakamada participated at the international roundtable “New conceptual approaches in formation of modern system of international relations”, which was organized by the Center for Political Studies and held meeting at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and Tashkent Oriental Studies Institute.
