Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 17 February 2025, Munira Aminova, Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, met with Sherzod Umarov, Deputy Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas of cooperation between Uzbekistan and FAO, including attracting international funds and donor countries to support environmentally sustainable initiatives, modernizing the agricultural sector with a focus on sustainable development principles, and strengthening genetic banks to preserve the biodiversity of agricultural crops.

Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to assisting FAO in implementing these projects and continuing productive collaboration to achieve goals in food security, sustainable agriculture, and improving public welfare.
