Uzbek FM receives new Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 December 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic Ibrahim Junusov.

After a short ceremony of presenting a copy of credentials, the parties discussed key issues of Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan agenda, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

The sides noted with satisfaction the multifaceted and dynamic nature of bilateral relations, where regular high-level contacts have a central place.

As it was noted, trade-economic, investment and interregional relations, based on respect for each other’s interests and mutual benefit, have an important place in the interstate dialogue.

Successful results of the second meeting of the Council of Heads of Border Regions of Uzbekistan and plenipotentiary representatives of the Government of Kyrgyzstan in border regions, held on December 18 in Osh, and the concrete reached agreements indicate that the parties have significant potential for expanding cooperation.

At the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on some international and regional issues.
