Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 19 October 2022, the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Timur Ishmetov met with the head of the mission and economist of the Tax Administration Department of the International Monetary Fund Vincent Kukpazan.

It was also attended by Deputy Minister Dilshod Sultanov, Director of the Department of Tax and Customs Policy and Revenue Forecasting Iroda Abbaskhanova, Deputy Head of the Department of the State Tax Committee Timur Ismailov, IMF experts Thomas Storey, Adam Hunt, Patrick Fognan and the fund’s adviser in Uzbekistan Modestas Kaselyauskas.

The main topic was the discussion of the IMF’s mission to improve the tax administration system in order to create the most comfortable conditions for taxpayers. The participants also considered the issues of risk management (CRM), the introduction of digital technologies, the use of data, tax control, transparency and accountability of relevant authorities.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue and expand fruitful bilateral cooperation within the framework of joint projects.
