Uzbek envoy calls to hold intl investigation of Kyrgyz violence
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the United Nations Murad Askarov, speaking at the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly, called for independent international investigation of massacre, murders and violence, carried out in southern Kyrgyzstan.

He underlined that Kyrgyz and numerous Uzbek community, jointly living for centuries, became hostages of well-thought campaign by the third forces, the UN News Center said.

Murad Askarov said tragic events, which took place in Jun 2010 in Kyrgyz Republic, are serious threat to situation in the Central Asian region. He said Uzbek President Islam Karimov, speaking at the UN General Assembly on 20 September 2010, underlined topicality and political importance of the issue.

Uzbek envoy stated that the campaign was aimed not only at creating chaos and uncontrollable situation in the country, but also at envisaged far-reaching aims to attract Uzbekistan into cruel slaughter and turn inter-ethnic conflict into inter-state confrontation of two neighboring states.

Calling to conduct independent international investigation of violence in southern Kyrgyzstan, Murad Askarov said that customers, organizers and executives of these murderous deeds should be called to account.
