Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 17 January, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Jamshid Kuchkarov had a meeting with World Bank Vice President Cyril Muller at the Ministry of Finance.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the results of 2019 in the financial and economic sectors of the country, the adoption of the state budget in the form of law and the Tax Code in a new edition.
Mr. Muller emphasized that the adopted Law on the State Budget for 2020 is a necessary and effective measure to continue reforms of the domestic economy.
During the meeting, the parties signed a US$100 million loan agreement to finance the Prosperous Villages Project. It is designed to improve the quality of social infrastructure and living standards in the rural areas of Fergana, Andijan, Namangan, Jizzakh and Syrdarya.
