Uzbek delegation participates in World Bank events in Washington

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9-12 April 2019, a delegation of Uzbekistan composed of First Deputy Minister of Public Education Alisher Umarov and Head of the State Inspectorate for Supervision of Education Quality Ulugbek Tashkenbaev takes part in the Human Capital Project Coordinator Forum and the Ministerial Conclave held by the World Bank in Washington.

The event is attended by World Bank CEO Kristalina Georgieva and WB Vice President for Human Capital Development Annette Dickson, representatives from more than 50 countries, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.

The Human Capital project is a global initiative of the World Bank aimed at facilitating the implementation of effective investments in human development as an essential factor for the sustainable economic growth of the state.

The Forum discusses mechanisms for improving the quality of education, ensuring universal access to basic services in the field of health care, employment and financial services, as well as their impact on improving productivity and income levels of the population.

Special attention is paid to the issues of measuring results in the field of education and health care in order to determine, which measures provide real benefits and to which additional resources should be directed.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States, the Uzbek delegation will also participate in bilateral meetings with representatives of the World Bank and the American Council on International Education.
