The delegation familiarized with healthcare system of South Korea, achievements of Korean doctors, latest medical equipment and services. During the visit, the Uzbek delegation reached agreement on organization of internship and educational programmes for young Uzbek doctors at Korean medical centers.

The Uzbek delegation composed of Shakhnoza Umarova, the director of “In the Name of Life” National Breast Cancer Association; Tamara Aripova, MD, professor and director of the Institute of Immunology of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan; Nariman Shoyusupov, PhD, surgeon, member of the National Association’s Working Group and head of breast cancer section of Tashkent City Cancer Clinic; Hojiakbar Mirzamuhamedov, PhD, surgeon and assistant of Cancer Chair at Tashkent Institute for the Improvement of Doctors’ Skills; Gulsanam Malikova, associate professor of the Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tashkent Medical Academy; and Nargiza Mutalibova, a nurse at Clinical Hospital No1.

The delegation started its visit with Hwasun Hospital of Chonnam National University in Gwangju city, where Uzbek citizen marina Kurmanbaeva is undergoing rehabilitation after breast cancer operation.

The delegation visited medical center Chhomdan in Gwangju city and met meeting with vice mayor Kang Gye-doo.

In Seoul, the delegation visited Oriental Medical Center Chasan, which specializes on treatment diseases of backbone and articulations.

The Uzbek doctors visited Gangnam Severance Hospital under the Yonsei University, which is well-known for operations on transplantation of organs. After that they visited Uridil Hospital, one of the best hospitals on treatment of backbone diseases in the world. The doctors visited Kangnam Center of Seoul National Universitty and Medical Center of the Gongug University, which specializes on heart diseases.
