Uzbek customs officers seize 186 kg of gold products in Jan-Sep

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Customs officers of Uzbekistan in cooperation with other law enforcement bodies revealed 359 facts of illegal turnover of 186 kg of gold products with the cost of 32 billion soums, the State Customs Committee said.

Passenger of Istanbul-Tashkent flight Sojida M. has been detained with 250 grams of gold products with the cost of about 14 million soums. Citizen of Namangan region did not declare 68 gold products, which were hidden in women clothes.

Citizen of Khorezm region Nasiba K. was attempting to smuggle women jewelry for 3.5 million soums. She was detained at Tashkent International Airport during inspection of Dubai-Tashkent flight.

Nukulkhon N., 45, was detained at Dustlik customs post in Khorezm region. She tried to smuggle 249 grams of golden women jewelry for over 19 million soums.

Currently, customs investigations are underway on these cases.
