Uzbek ceramist accepted into prestigious Homo Faber scholarship program

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 May 2023, the "Uzbek Chapter" appeared in the Homo Faber Guide: eleven masters representing the traditional arts and crafts of Uzbekistan became among the world’s outstanding artisans and were included in the famous guide. This is not only a significant milestone for the whole of Central Asia, but also the recognition of the uniqueness of Uzbek handicraft traditions by a respected international organization - the Michelangelo Foundation for the Support of Creativity and Mastery. This was reported by the Art and Culture Development Foundation.

Thanks to the appearance of the “Uzbek Chapter”, Shokhrukh Rakhimov, a representative of a well-known family of ceramists, was accepted into the prestigious Homo Faber scholarship program.

Shohruh will spend a month in Portugal and 6 months in Greece, where he will be able to gain experience with local craftsmen. The works completed during the scholarship programs will be presented in 2024 at the Homo Faber exhibition in Venice, which will be held at the Giorgio Cini Foundation.

A new intake for the Homo Faber Scholarship Program will be open to young artisans in 2024.
