Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The sensational results of the excavations will be presented by the Uzbek side at the Week of Culture and Art of Uzbekistan, which will be held from 22 to 26 August in three cities of the republic - Tashkent, Termez and Samarkand.
According to Uzbek researchers, Alexandria Oxiana is located on the site of the site Kampyrtepa. The Kampyrtepa complex consists of a main citadel surrounded by a moat, a lower town enclosed by a fortress wall with towers and an unfortified suburb. Archaeologists have found here well-preserved cultural layers of the early Hellenistic, Greco-Bactrian and Kushan-Yuezhi eras.
At the International Archaeological Forum “Uzbekistan - the Crossroad of Civilizations”, which will be held in Termez on 24 August 2019, the results of the colossal work carried out in recent years by a group of scientists led by academician E. Rtveladze will be announced.
