Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Belgium, Gayrat Fozilov, presented a copy of his credentials to Hans Akerboom, Director of the Protocol and Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Dunyo News Agency reports.
During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the dynamic pace of bilateral relations and active cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Netherlands in areas such as politics, diplomacy, inter-parliamentary ties, trade, economics, and investment.
The positive outcome of the latest round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of both countries, held in Tashkent in April this year, was reaffirmed, and the willingness to make this format regular was emphasized.
Furthermore, the parties exchanged views on further steps in bilateral and multilateral cooperation, discussed the schedule of upcoming contacts and events at various levels.
Hans Akerboom confirmed the readiness of the Protocol Department to provide comprehensive support to the Uzbek Embassy, including assistance in strengthening Uzbek-Dutch dialogue.
It is worth noting that on 14 November, Gayrat Fozilov presented his credentials to the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, as the head of the Mission of Uzbekistan to the EU. Additionally, on 7 February 2024, Fozilov presented his credentials to King Philippe of Belgium in Brussels.
