Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 7 January 2025, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Belgium Gayrat Fazilov presented his credentials to the Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg, Guillaume, according to Dunyo news agency.

During the meeting, which took place as part of the ceremony, the Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg expressed interest in strengthening friendly ties with Uzbekistan.

The parties discussed prospects for further developing bilateral relations.

At the end of the conversation, the Duke congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and assured him of his readiness to support his efforts aimed at expanding cooperation between the two countries.

Gayrat Fazilov holds the position of Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, as well as heading the missions to the EU and NATO with residence in Brussels.

He arrived in Brussels on 5 December 2023, to begin his diplomatic mission. Prior to this appointment, he served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

On 7 February 2024, he presented his credentials to King Philippe of Belgium, on 14 November to Charles Michel, President of the European Council, and on 4 December to King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.
