During his visit to Uzbekistan, Kukito Shineya conducted several seminars titled “Modern technologies of NEC Corporation” at Tashkent Information Technologies University and its Samarkand branch, as well as Uzbektelecom’s Engineer-Technical Center. The participant got acquainted with latest achievements of Japan in information technologies sphere.

The sides underlined that Uzbekistan and NEC have been cooperation since independence of Uzbekistan. The sides realized over 10 largest projects on reconstruction and modernization of telecommunication network of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the sides underlined importance of cooperation between UzACI and NEC in training of skilled specialists for telecommunication and IT sectors.

Currently, NEC is participating in implementation of the project on step-by-step transfer to digital TV broadcasting in Uzbekistan till 2015. NEC supplied television transmitter equipment to Tashkent in 2008 and it is planned that Japanese firm will supply three more transmitters in 2010. Japanese side expressed readiness to further participate in development of digitial television in Uzbekistan.

The sides also considered issues of developing of mutual beneficial cooperation on new ICT directions.
