UzACI, HCL Technologies Ltd. officials hold talks
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of HCL Technologies Ltd. (India) led by its Senior Vice President Rajiv Sodhi is paying visit to Uzbekistan. The delegation held talks at the Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information (UzACI) on 9 January 2012.

UzACI said that the memorandum of understanding was signed between the UzACI and Ministry of communication and technologies of India on information technologies within the visit of the Uzbek President to India in May 2011. The document sets priority directions of bilateral cooperation in this area.

Within the implementation of the memorandum, the sides inked a joint action plan in October 2011. One of the priorities of the plan is joint development and production of software in partnership with Indian firms. The visit of the delegation was organized to implement these tasks.

During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities of establishing mutual beneficial cooperation on development and production of software. The sides exchanged opinion on perspective directions of cooperation in development and production of software, introduction of advanced Indian technologies and innovations, exports of software, etc.

It is expected that the Indian delegation will hold talks with representatives of ministries and departments, Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Uzbektelecom, UZINFOCOM Center and IT Association.

HCL Technologies Ltd. is a part of HCL, which is one of four largest IT companies of India. HCL was founded in 1976 and operates in 31 countries of the world. Its income as of August 2011 made up US$6 billion. It employs 85,000 people.
