Technologies 06/08/2008 Use of ICT in government administration discussed in Tashkent
The seminar was organized by the Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan, UZINFOCOM Center and UNDP "ICT Policy" project (ICTP). The aim of this event is to improve the skills of public servants on the application of ICT in government administration, to raise awareness of officials from provincial khokimiyats in various directions and global trends, to obtain skills under real projects aimed to build e-government in Uzbekistan, as well as the exchange of experience among course participants.

The participants of this seminar were welcomed at the opening by the speech of Deputy Director of the Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan Asadjon Hodjaev. It was noted that the seminar will help participants to reveal the possibilities and prospects of development of electronic government, along with the advantages associated with the introduction of ICT in Uzbekistan.

The seminar examined main tasks of state policy in the sphere of formation of legal and technological foundations for implementation of management techniques using new information and communication technologies in the state sector. In addition, questions on adoption and use of electronic exchange of documents in government administration, the use of digital signature, the role of official sites of state bodies in the Internet were explored.

The seminar also covered such topics as: "The use of ICT in government administration", "Principles of building an e-government", "The introduction of electronic exchange of documents on the example of UZINFOCOM Center", "Development of Governmental portal of Uzbekistan in the Internet", "The pace of development of the implementation of ICT in Uzbekistan", "Effective implementation and use of electronic digital signature","Microsoft solutions for government organizations".
