US$150 Million Home Appliance Plant Under Construction in Jizzakh

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During his visit to the Jizzakh region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the construction progress of a major home appliance manufacturing plant in the Zaamin district.

This large-scale project is part of Uzbekistan’s broader strategy to become a regional hub for the electrical engineering industry and to produce competitive products under national brands.

The new facility, which will serve as a branch of the Navoi Industrial Park, is being built on a site covering 80 hectares. The total project cost stands at US$150 million. Once operational, the plant will have the capacity to produce up to 1 million units of home appliances and components annually — including washing machines, refrigerators, televisions, and water heaters. The product line will include around 100 different items, with a localization rate of up to 70%.

The plant’s projected annual output is valued at US$320 million, of which about US$140 million is expected to come from exports.

Products will be shipped to more than 15 countries, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and other nations across the region. The facility is expected to create over 7,000 jobs.

To enhance manufacturing flexibility and responsiveness to market demand, the plant will include its own mold-making workshop. A modern logistics center will also be established on-site to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of finished goods to customers.

Additionally, the industrial park will host a plastics manufacturing facility geared toward serving the needs of enterprises within Uzavtosanoat JSC. This will help expand inter-sectoral cooperation and strengthen industrial integration.
