US Open: Denis Istomin loses to Rafael Nadal

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representative of Uzbekistan Denis Istomin lost to the world number one Rafael Nadal in straight sets in the second round of the US Open - 6:2, 7:6 (7:5), 7:5.

The match lasted 1 hour 44 minutes. In the first set, Nadal claimed two break points and won it with the score 6:2.

The second set lasted till tiebreak. Istomin was leading 5:1, but Rafa won six points to win the second set as well. In the third set, Nadal beat Istomin with the score 7:5.

During the match, Istomin made 40 unforced errors against 25 of Nadal. The number of winners was almost equal 32-30 in favour of Spaniard. Denis Istomin made 10 aces, while Nadal had 8.
