US Deports Uzbek National Wanted Since 2023

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A citizen wanted in Uzbekistan since 2023 has been deported from the United States, according to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The 37-year-old Uzbek national was identified and detained in New York, the ministry said.

He had been placed on a wanted list in 2023 on suspicion of an offence under Part 2 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, which relates to the illegal manufacture, acquisition, possession, and other activities involving narcotic drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances without intent to sell.

Following his detention, the individual was deported to Uzbekistan in accordance with established procedures.
