The delegation also included Representative Brian Higgins (Democrat from New York), Representative Ted Poe (Republican from Texas), and Representative Paul Cook (Republican from California).

The delegation met with President Islom Karimov, and held discussions at the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Security Council and at the parliament and senate. During the meetings a wide range of issues were discussed including bilateral and regional issues, and possible future meetings between members of the legislatures of both countries.

Representative Dana Rohrbacher represents California’s 48th District, and is head of the U.S House Subcommittee on Europe and Eurasia. His subcommittee conducts oversight of key aspects of US foreign policy in Central Asia.
