Universities of Uzbekistan start to admit applications in electronic form

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Specialists of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent developed the UNIVERSITIES.UZ program designed for applicants to submit documents to universities in electronic form, the Agency for Intellectual Property of the Republic of Uzbekistan said.

Last year, for the first time, electronic reception of documents from applicants was held at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies. This service operated on the basis of the Single Interactive Government Services Portal (EPIGU). For submission of documents it is necessary to obtain a digital signature in the regional offices of the tax inspectorate.

The UNIVERSITIES.UZ program has the following functional capabilities: obtaining information about all the universities of Uzbekistan (address, telephone numbers, faculties, directions, passes, etc.); the user receives a separate account and can at any time send their documents in electronic form and find out the result of the exams through an sms-message received on his account.

Also through this program, the users can find out information about grants, scholarships and summer schools around the world. The authors of the program I. Aloviddin and J. Nurlan received a certificate number DGU 05826 for the computer program.

As previously reported, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education to develop a regulatory legal act by April 1, 2019, which will envisage the phased abolition of quotas for admission of students to universities on a fee-and-contract basis. According to the document, universities will be given the right to independently determine student enrollment quotas, based on the capacity of the educational institution.

Another important innovation is that applicants will be allowed to enroll in several educational institutions at once.
