UNISTREAM management stated that several factors served for opening its office in Uzbekistan.

UNISTREAM President Souren Hayriyan said that Uzbekistan is one of perspective corridors of money transfer in Central Asia and the CIS, as whole.

He said that representative office of UNISTREAM will coordinate such important activities as expanding partnership with local financial institutes, study development of market situation, promotion of new products and options, further improving quality of services.

UNISTREAM has started its work in Uzbekistan nine years ago. Currently, the system has over 1,200 points in Uzbekistan. Some 250 points work in Uzbekistan, 80 – in Samarkand, 60 – in Namangan, 50 – in Bukhara and Andijan each. All points work on addressless regime.

Uzbekistan became the first country, in which UNISTREAM has launched specialized money transfer points. They were launched in Samarkand and Bukhara.

The system actively promotes unified client cards, number of which exceeded 30,000 now. About 80% of remittances are sent with these cars.

UNISTREAM chief said that the growth of the transactions made up 33% year-on-year in the first quarter and number of remittances – by 21%. Market share of UNISTREAM in outbound remittances from Uzbekistan exceeds 30%.
