UNESCO to hold training for young journalists
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan in partnership with the National Association of Electronic Mass Media and Ecoforum of Uzbekistan will organize a training “Mass media – partners of sustainable development” for young TV and radio journalists, as well as ecologists, who cover issues of sustainable development.

In line with the decision of the UN General Assembly, UNESCO was designed to raise public awareness and understating on sustainable development. Taking into role of mass media in forming public opinion, UNESCO call all electronic and print mass media, mass media specialists, education establishments and students to participate at the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD) (2005-2014).

Within the training, it is planned to hold theoretical and practical lessons on sustainable development and discuss dissemination of ecologic information and popularization of ecologic ideas.

In the result of the training, it is expected that series of TV and radio materials on sustainable development, including on ecologic issues. The participants will work in groups to develop various media content on sustainable development and they will be broadcasted via various media channels.

The training will be held in Tashkent on 27-29 October 2011.
