Pravda Vostoka newspaper said that the project on digitalization of rare documents from funds of archives and museums of Uzbekistan has been implemented within the UNESCO programme on communication and information since 2008.
Within the project, UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan in cooperation with museums of Khiva, Bukhara and Samarkand carried out projects on digitalization of rare negatives to glasses. Recently, international organization supported the application on digitalization of negatives from the collection of the State History Museum of Uzbekistan.
Registrar of the Museum Ms. Alimuhamedova said that currently the museum has over 10,000 negatives of 1920-1970, which recorded material heritage from architecture excavations, architecture monuments from Tashkent, Samarkand, Khiva and Bukhara, traditions and customs, etc. UNESCO experts will digitalize the negatives and they will be handed over to museum after the process ends.
