UNDP project awards a group of journalists
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A joint project of UNDP and Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Population of Uzbekistan “Inclusive Employment and Social Partnership” awarded the winners and laureates of competition for journalists “Social partnership: make a step forward”.

The contest for the best journalistic work on covering issues of social vulnerable groups pf was launched in May 2012 and its results were summed up on 23 November 2012.

The competition was aimed at wide and versatile coverage of social partnership in mass media – interaction with state, NGOs and businesses - to ensure employment of social vulnerable groups of population.

The organizers said that journalists from electronic and print media from Karakalpakstan to Ferghana Valley and various age participated at the contest.

Journalists published large number of articles, which demonstrated successful experience of assistance to vulnerable layers of populations in employment and attraction them to public life. The publications underlined importance of employment of socially vulnerable layers of population.

According to the jury of the competition, Sharibonu Imomova (on photo), student of Faculty of international journalism of the Uzbek State University of World Languages, won the first place and received notebook.

Sonrjon Dadakhodjaev, editor of newspaper Vodil Yodusi (Ferghana region) and Natalya Krichagina, content editor of Brand.uz, claimed the second place and cameras.

Erkin Ernazarov, Hafiza Buronova, Lobarhon Azizkhodjaev, Alena Aminona, Gulnara Babadjamova, Ramil Islamov and Marifat Mavlanova also received gifts from the organizers.

The joint project of UNDP and Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Population of Uzbekistan “Inclusive Employment and Social Partnership” is directed at strengthening social partnership in ensuring employment and social protection of population, including people with disabilities and women in difficult situations.
