UNDP launches ICT Glossary’s mobile application
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The new Uzbek-Russian-English Glossary of contemporary ICT terms is now available on Google Play (Android Market) for users of android-supported smart phones and its mobile applications.

The ICT Glossary includes around 5000 terms and definitions on varies fields of information and communication technologies, particularly, computerization and informatization, telecommunication and networking technologies, software and hardware, electronic government, information security, telecommunication systems, data processing, distance learning, application of ICT in state governance and others.

The key advantages of the online ICT Glossary are unlimited capacity allocated for resources; remote and fixed access of a wide range of users to the data in both offline and online modes; availability of making a quick search for a particular ICT term by any order (alphabetically or by words in Uzbek, Russian and English languages), as well as accurate interpretation and definitions of words and terms in Uzbek (Latin and Cyrillic) with their exact analogies in Russian and English.

The mobile version of ICT Glossary is intended for users of different professions, including IT specialists, scholars of research institutions, information centers of khokimiyats, translators, philologists, professors and students of universities, beginning and advanced IT users and etc.

The ICT Glossary is also available on the education portal ZiyoNET at http://dic.zy.uz, and it is open for updates with new ICT words and terms, if necessary.

The online and mobile versions of ICT Glossary was initiated and developed by UNDP Local Governance Support Programme (LGSP) in close collaboration with “Uzinfocom” State Company with a view to extend the number of users of the printed version of the ICT Glossary, published by UNDP ICT Project (first and second editions published in 2005 and 2010, respectively).

UNDP/LGSP is implemented in partnership with the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan in Djizak, Namangan and Tashkent regions to promoting more effective, accountable and inclusive governance in Uzbekistan by enhancing local government performance, increasing citizen participation in local governance, and supporting accountability and transparency.
