The targeted audience of the training workshop are technical specialists immediately involved in the development of CDM projects representing the Agency "Uzkommunkhizmat", Agency on Technology Transfer, Energy Center of Uzbekistan, State Energy Inspection "Uzgosenergonadzor", the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Association of Farmer’s of Uzbekistan, the Association of Poultry Farmers of Uzbekistan, an other interested agencies and companies.

Development of a CDM project implies numerous stages and requires knowledge of specific CDM modalities and procedures. With a view to improving practical skills of the national specialists in development of the proper project documents, the UNDP project "Capacity Building on Clean Development Mechanism in Uzbekistan" is to conduct the training workshop on preparation of CDM biogas projects.

The training is led by Mr. Vladislav Arnaoudov, an International Consultant, specialist on CDM and JI of the Mitsubishi UFJ Securities Co., Ltd., a Japanese investment bank and one of the leading international consultancies providing advisory and brokerage services under the Kyoto Protocol.

The main topics of presentation and discussions are calculation of methane emission generated by landfills and manure management system and two case studies of CDM projects on biogas utilization.

In addition to the training workshop, during the mission of the International Consultant to Tashkent, 13 through 17 October 2008, a series of consultancies will be offered on the specific matters of development of CDM projects on biogas utilization.
