UNDESA mission visits State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A mission of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), including Senior Economic Adviser for Macroeconomic Policy Rashid Hamad and inter-regional advisor Vladimir Popov visited the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan on 10 June 2013.

The meeting was organized within the visit of the UNDESA mission to Uzbekistan on 6-11 June 2013, which was agreed with the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

The visit was aimed at revealing areas, in which the UNDESA could provide support to the Government in development of analyses and policies, and familiarizing with the activities of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan on gathering and forming statistics reports.

At the meeting, the UNDESA experts received information on the activities of the committee and legislation of Uzbekistan, the committee said.
