Denis Haveaux said that the UNAIDS will support Uzbekistan in so called “Know your epidemic”, which will help to improve data collection. This will be important step in planning responsive measures against AIDS. In next six months, UNAIDS will work on revealing number of people in each high risks groups and determine number of people with HIV I Uzbekistan, as well as number of people, including children, who need treatment, he said.

The second direction will be continuation of support to civil society and NGOs in Uzbekistan. He believes that it is important to help them to work with state bodies in national level.

Denis Haveaux said that the third direction will be to work with Uzbekistan to implement national strategic programmes. He said that support of the government in implementation of national strategic progammes will be common tasks for all UN agencies.

Fourth direction will be to guarantee medicaments to people with HIV. He said that antiretroviral medicaments are accessible and free in the country.
