Babatunde Osotimehin highly rated works on employment women and improving their labout condition, attracting them to business activity and support their initiatives, protection of maternity and childhood, UzA reported.
At the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on improving exchange of experience and information to improve role and status of women in society, develop and implement various initiatives and projects.
Babatunde Osotimehin also met the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov. The sides exchanged opinion on currently state and perspectives of cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNFPA, expansion and development of interaction.
On the same day, UNFPA chief visited the Center for support of civil society to hold negotiations on development of cooperation. The center has been cooperating with the UNFPA within various joint projects.
Babatunde Osotimehin also visited Uzbekistan Sport Complex in Tashkent and familiarized with conditions for young people. The guest was impressed with the visit.
