Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 38th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) started its work in Bangkok (Thailand). The event is attended by the President of the National Olympic Committee, Umid Akhmatdjanov, and the General Secretary, Jasur Matchanov.

In addition to discussing various topics, elections were held for senior management, the Executive Committee and representatives of the standing committees for the period 2019-2022.

President of the National Olympic Committee, Umid Akhmatdjanov, became the vice-president of the Olympic Council of Asia.

“I am very glad that they entrusted me with this position. Of course, this is a big responsibility for me, and at the same time, honor. I will represent and protect the interests of not only Uzbekistan, but also the entire Central Asian region. My main task is to join the ranks of the IOC Executive Committee. I will make every effort to become a member of the International Olympic Committee ", - commented the head of the NOC on the election results.

Umid Akhmatdjanov is also the President of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA).
