Ucell to increase number of 3G basic station by 50%
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ucell (FE Coscom Ltd), the second largest mobile communication operator of Uzbekistan, is planning to increase total number of 3G basic stations in the country by 50%, head of Department on development of services of Ucell Shavkat Huseynov said.

Shavkat Huseynov said at the press conference in Tashkent that Ucell united all its Internet services under one single brand 3G Max.

He said that 3G Max will ensure maximum speed of access to Internet for subscribers. He said that currently the speed of Intern reaches 7.2 Mbps and soon it will make up 42 Mbps.

3G Max will ensure maximum coverage and users in over 100 cities and settlements in Uzbekistan can use services of 3G Max. In near future, the company plans to expand 3G network coverage area and increase 3G stations number at least by 50%, he said.

Eaerlier, the company stated that it leads on number of basic stations and coverage area of 3G network. According to the company, number of basic stations was over 2,000 in March 2011.

Huseynov underlined that 3G Max provides maximum opportunities for users, including over ten internet packages, special discounts, services and tariffs.

He said that Ucell recenetly launched new Internet packages Max, which replaced earlier packages Mega and Giga. The company also launched new campaign “Modem as a gift”.

Shavkat Huseynov said that the company offers its users 3G terminals – modems, smartphones and tabled computers. He said that Ucell imports 3G terminals and sells them on their prime cost as the company does not want to make money on devices.
