UCell taps Comverse to enhance and monetize mobile broadband traffic growth
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- UCell, the second largest mobile operator in Uzbekistan with more than seven million subscribers and a part of TeliaSonera Group, has selected Comverse, a leader in BSS, mobile Internet, and value-added services, to introduce new mobile Internet service capabilities.

Leveraging product synergies, UCell will benefit from operational and cost efficiencies and enhanced marketing and monetization capabilities while advancing the customer experience to the cutting edge.

Replacing legacy billing and mobile broadband solutions, UCell selected Comverse Mobile Internet Hub (MIH) for its end-to-end policy, enforcement and charging solution with Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) & Traffic Optimization. MIH is tightly linked with Comverse ONE Billing & Active Customer Management, a comprehensive BSS solution built around a single data model and product catalogue, offering a complete, real-time view of customer and product data across the operator's network.

"With the significant growth of data usage in our network, we are facing unprecedented challenges and opportunities," said Mahbuba Sadikova, Chief Marketing Officer, UCell. "The combination of Comverse MIH policy and enforcement capabilities and Comverse ONE tools will enable UCell to act with greater speed and ease to introduce effective segmented/personalized data plans based on both network and subscriber dimensions, to better meet the unique needs and preferences of our users. The close linkage will also enable us to intelligently control network data congestion and quality of service issues to ensure a superior personalized user experience."

"As a leader in all of the key domains -- BSS, mobile Internet and VAS -- we are ideally suited to help operators evolve and overcome the challenges that arise as their customer base grows and their needs evolve," said Lionel Chmilewsky, Senior Vice President, Head of Customer Facing Group at Comverse. "Replacing multiple vendors with a synergistic solution based on best-of-suite products from a single premium vendor, UCell gains the extensive functionality and superior architecture required to optimize and monetize the end user experience. Integral to success is effective enforcement of per-segment policies, which draws from the ability to manage all policy and charging dimensions holistically and seamlessly, and bill accordingly."
