UCell receives 4G license
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- FE COSCOM LLC (providing its services under UCell brand), the second mobile operator in Uzbekistan, received the license for new generation – 4G (Long-term Evolution – LTE) mobile technology. With the frequencies UCell has been awarded, the company will be able to build a next generation super-fast mobile broadband network, offering access speed of up to 100 Mbps.

"We are very pleased to receive this 4G license. It will give our customers access to even faster mobile broadband in the future", said Oguz Memiguven, UCell CEO. "This shows our commitment as a long-term investor in Uzbekistan and our readiness to offer services on the basis of latest technologies.”

Customers’ need for capacity and speed keeps growing. The license received will enable UCell to build in future a mobile network that is more than 10 times faster than today's 3G networks. 4G mobile networks will offer use of interactive TV, videos, advanced online gaming and professional applications and services for business, that require high speed and capacity.

The 4G/LTE system is based on 3GPP standards for Long Term Evolution (LTE) radio technology and System Architecture Evolution (SAE) core technology. 4G offers speeds in mobile broadband services between 20-80 Mbit/s with a maximum speed of 100 Mbit/s.
