Ucell invests 300bn soums to network development
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Mobile communication operator Ucell invested over 300 billion soums to development and expansion of its network in 2013, the director-general of the operator Osman Turan said.

Mr Turan in his interview to magazine infoCOM.uz said that it is well-known that Ucell is a part of TeliaSonera, which is one of the largest telecommunication operators of Europe.

“Thanks to this, we are trying to introduce the advance global experience to activities of our company to develop mobile communication sector in Uzbekistan. The fact that Ucell invested over 300 billion soums to development and expansion of network in 2013 is an evidence for our intentions,” he said.

He said that Ucell is one of the largest tax payers in Uzbekistan. In 2013, the operator paid over 280 billion soums in taxes. It also directed 11 billion soums to sponsorship activities. This is contribution of operator to society, he noted.

Turan said that the operator focuses on customer satisfaction and tries to create comfortable conditions for them. He said that Ucell carried out wide-scale work on rebranding of its own offices in Karshi, Navoi, Qoqand and Tashkent cities.

He said that the operator wants to create all necessary conditions for subscribers, so they can receive high quality services, which met standards of TeliaSonera. In 2013, the own offices of Ucell served over 600,000 subscribers, Ucell head said.

Ucell subscribers can also ask questions and receives answers to them in online mode. He said that Ucell Call Center processed over 6.5 million calls in 2013.
