UAE delegation visits Uzbekistan

The UAE delegation includes representatives and heads of private investment companies, free-industrial zones, industrial parks, companies, engaged in oil and gas, petrochemical, power, automobile, real estate, construction, ICT and others.

Within the visit, International Hotel Tashkent hosted a business-forum and a cooperation exchange among business circles of Uzbekistan and the UAE.

During the forum, entrepreneurs of the UAE received detailed information on priority directions of attracting investments. The guests familiarized with wide-scale privatization process, reforms in small and private business, etc.

They also got acquainted with issues on implementing joint projects at Navoi free industrial-economic zone and Jizzakh special industrial zone.

Currently, Uzbekistan and the UAE signed 28 inter-governmental and inter-departmental documents, which create legal base for the bilateral relations.

Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the UAE hit US$188.6 million in 2012, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan said.

Uzbekistan mainly exports cotton-fibre, silk, agriculture and services to the UAE and imports mechanic and electric equipment, coffee, tea, furniture, clothes, foods and sport equipment.

At the meeting, the sides underlined that exports of ready products of Uzbekistan to the UAE and further expansion of investment cooperation are priorities of the bilateral relations.
