Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A case was opened against travel companies Iskander Tours and Oks Tours, located in Karakalpakstan, for illegal advertising of umrah services, the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights of Uzbekistan reported.

Despite the lack of a license to conduct Umrah in Karakalpakstan, companies illegally advertised their services on social networks.

As part of the investigation, companies are instructed to eliminate violations and prevent them in the future.

The committee noted that there are currently no travel agencies in Karakalpakstan that have a license to conduct Umrah.
