Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 2 August, two girls from a private kindergarten in Jizzakh Region were hospitalized in the infectious diseases unit with suspected food poisoning.

According to the press service of the Children’s Ombudsman, the incident occurred in the Pahlavon district. The four- and five-year-old girls exhibited high fever, raising suspicions of food poisoning among doctors.

Medical staff also examined 14 other children from the nursery, none of whom reported any health complaints.

Specialists collected samples of the food served to the children for breakfast.

An investigation into the incident is currently underway and is being monitored by the Ombudsman for Children’s Rights.
