The candidate must have the citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan by birth, higher education, reside in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the last 15 years. Age must be at least 40 years old. The applicant must have an active electoral right, have at least 5 years of experience in the public service or in elective positions, and be fluent in the state language. Each candidate for the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan must collect 118,000 signatures.
