Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Spain are looking forward to boosting mutual relations in various fields, the Uzbek TV reported on 3 July.

Issues related to developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Spain in various fields were the main topic of Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Miguel Angel Moratinos’s talks at Uzbek ministries and agencies, the report said.

The TV report showed the Spanish foreign minister as saying that the delegation he was leading included top mangers of leading Spanish companies. "The Purpose of our visit is to expand relations between the countries. Of course businessmen should take active part in it. That is why, top managers of leading Spanish companies have been included in the delegation," Miguel Angel Moratinos said.

The report said the Spanish delegation had held talks at the Uzbek Department of Foreign Affairs, the International Business Centre and the Ministry of Higher Education, where various agreements were reportedly reached. The TV report said the Ozbekturizm (Uzbek tourism) national company and the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade had signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in tourism. The memorandum will serve to improve cultural ties between the two countries, develop marketing and management aspects of tourism, bring in new technologies and ensure experience exchange in this field, the report said.

The report went on to say that, along with "agreements reached to improve bilateral trade and economic cooperation", several projects had been planned in the oil and gas field, railway transportation, chemical and electric engineering, and information and communication technologies.
