Turkish investors to build a photovoltaic plant in Ferghana region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Turkish investors plan to construct a photovoltaic plant in the Ferghana region, according to the press service of the regional administration.

The regional governor, Khayrullo Bozorov, held talks with Ibrahim Uzer, a member of the Tourism Committee under the President of Turkey.

The parties discussed project implementation in the fields of energy, social services, and medicine, involving Turkish entrepreneurs.

In the "Yangi Uzbekistan" district of Ferghana, a photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 80 MW is planned. The plant will generate 150 million kWh of electricity and has the potential to include energy storage systems. The project's cost is estimated at 57 million euros.

An investment agreement and a contract with "National Electric Networks" for the mandatory purchase of the produced electricity are expected to be signed soon.

Preparatory work for the "green" project is scheduled to be completed by the end of November, with the implementation set for the third quarter of 2025.

The parties also discussed projects aimed at improving water supply in schools and remote settlements, repairing medical points in rural areas, and supplying specialized equipment for surgical operations in the medical field.
