Traffic Safety Authority Reminds: Original Driver Documents Still Mandatory
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In response to circulating rumors on social media about the supposed acceptance of electronic driver documents starting from 1 July 2025, the Traffic Safety Authority (SBDD) has issued an official clarification.
Posts had claimed that drivers could present their documents to traffic officers using the MyGov app or a social card. However, the SBDD has refuted these claims.
The agency emphasized that drivers are still required to carry and present original documents confirming their right to operate a vehicle and register it. Electronic versions may serve as supplementary information but do not replace physical originals.
The SBDD reminds the public that, under current legislation, traffic officers are legally entitled to request original documents. Failure to present them or refusal to do so may result in administrative penalties.
