Traffic police officers cannot conduct hidden surveillance on roads

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Employees of the Road Patrol Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan were forbidden to conduct hidden surveillance on the roads.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan approved a regulation on the procedure for regulating the traffic police relations with road users and the use of special devices.

The provision noted that traffic police officers carry out their official tasks openly, in the equipment established by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. At the same time, they can use vehicle, which are equipped with special audio and video fixation tools.

The document stated that from 1 July 2019, traffic police officers are required to have mobile video cameras.
