Gazeta.uz reported that on the volume of mutual trade with Russia, Uzbekistan holds the fourth place among the CIS states. Russia takes the second place on the volume of trade among partners of Uzbekistan. Share of Russia in trade turnover in the first three quarter of 2010 made up 29%.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia made up US$4.5 billion in January-September 2010. At the same time, Uzbekistan’s exports to Russia made up US$3.2 billion, while imports – US$1.3 billion. At the end of 2010, the trade turnover can exceed US$5 billion.
Vladimir Tyurdenev underlined that the growth of trade-economic relations are connected with fuel-energy complex, ICT, aircraft construction and railway cooperation. He added that the cooperation is strengthening in agriculture sector as well.
