Tourism potential of Uzbekistan is presented in Singapore

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Singapore, together with the local travel company Chan Brothers, organized a presentation of the tourism potential of our country at the Suntec Exhibition Center.

At the meeting, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan K. Shakirov acquainted the guests with information about the rich history, culture, heritage of the Uzbek people, a wide range of tourism opportunities offered by the republic, as well as the modern development of this industry in the country.

He informed the audience that from February 1, 2019, citizens of 64 countries of the world have the opportunity to visit Uzbekistan for up to 30 days without an entry visa. For citizens of Singapore, this rule is valid from February 2018. In addition, there is a direct flight service between our countries.

The photo exhibition allowed the participants of the event to visually get acquainted with the sights and ancient architectural monuments of the historical cities of our country. The photos also featured the rich national cuisine of Uzbekistan, the dishes of which have their own cooking traditions in various regions and cities of the republic.

It was noted that in 2018 the number of tourists from Singapore to Uzbekistan tripled compared with the figures for 2017 and amounted to almost two thousand people.

Foreign participants of the event received the presented information with great interest. This was evidenced by an active discussion that unfolded after the presentation. Uzbek diplomats answered all the questions of the audience regarding the organization of the trip to our country, the most interesting routes, the level of development of the services sector, hotels and transport. Many of those present voiced their desire to make a trip to our country in the near future.
