Tourism Fidoyisi Award Ceremony takes place in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 September 2022, the Congress dedicated to World Tourism Day was held at the Congress Hall of the Silk Road Tourist Center.

Within the framework of the event, the ceremony of awarding the badge “Tourism Fidoyisi” was held, as well as the presentation of certificates to foreign students, holders of grants from the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

The event was attended by representatives of state organizations, diplomatic corps, tourism organizations, entrepreneurs, artists, students of the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and media representatives.

The event was opened by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Rector of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road" Aziz Abdukhakimov.

In his speech, Aziz Abdukhakimov noted the special attention paid by the Government of Uzbekistan to the development of the tourism industry under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the importance of World Tourism Day for our country.

Within the framework of the event, about 40 laureates were awarded with the honorary badge “Tourism Fidoyisi”, including art and culture figures, representatives of the tourism sector, state and international organizations, entrepreneurs and the media who contributed to the development of tourism in Uzbekistan.

Also at the event, the undergraduates of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road" were awarded.

The Government of Uzbekistan annually provides 85 quotas to foreign students for the opportunity to study at the Master's program at the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
