The meeting said that the aggregate capital of the commercial banks rose 1.5 times year-on-year in January-June 2010 and reached 3.4 trillion soums.
The assets of the bank grew by 34% year-on-year and made up almost 20 trillion soums at the end of the first half of 2010.
The volume of loans directed to basic industries of Uzbekistan made up over 11.1 billion soums. Share of investment loans made up 79% from total loan portfolio of the commercial banks.
In the result of implementation of anti-crisis programme, commercial banks of Uzbekistan rehabilitated 122 enterprises out of 143 bankrupt companies, which they accepted to their balance. Fifty five of them were sold to strategic investors.
The commercial banks invested 102 billion soums of investments to these enterprises, which helped to produce 260.6 billion soums of goods. The enterprises also exported goods for US$30.8 million and created over 20,000 jobs.
The commercial banks of Uzbekistan increased crediting of private and small businesses by 1.5 times year-on-year in the reporting period to 1.4 trillion soums.
The deposits of population and legal entities at the commercial banks grew by 78% year-on-year in the first half of 2010 and reached 3.9 trillion soums as of 1 July 2010.
Number of issued banking payment cards exceeded 7 million, while number of installed POS-terminals reached over 61,000.
