Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 6 July, the International Caravan Sarai of Culture named after Ikko Hirayama, the Uzbek-Japanese Center, and the Society for the Study of Japanese Tea Ceremony in Tashkent, with the support of the Embassy of Japan in Uzbekistan, will host the traditional Tokyo summer festival "Tanabata."
On 7 July, across Japan, the traditional Japanese festival "Tanabata" is celebrated.
On this day, people write their wishes on specially prepared strips of paper called "Tanzaku" and then hang them on bamboo branches.
During this festival, women dress in special summer kimonos called "Yukata," and throughout Japan’s streets, one can see various markets, concerts, performances by artists, and enjoy fireworks in honor of this holiday.
